2. What is Portfolio ?Career portfolios helps documents education.

Answer:

Career portfolios help document education, work samples and skills. People use career portfolios to apply for jobs, apply to college or training programs. They are more in-depth than a resume, which is used to summarize the above in one or two pages. Career portfolios serve as proof of one's skills, abilities, and potential in the future. Career portfolios are becoming common in high schools, college, and workforce development.

Explanation:

Career portfolios help with a job or acceptance into higher education institutes. A career portfolio should be personal and contain critical information. Items that should be included include (but are not limited to) personal information, evaluations, sample work, a business portrait, and awards and acknowledgments. Career portfolios are often kept in a simple three-ring binder or online as an electronic portfolio and updated often. A career portfolio is used as a marketing tool in selling oneself for personal advancement. In some industries, employers or admission offices commonly request a career portfolio, so it is a wise idea to have an updated one on hand.

Portfolio assessments are an assortment of student works that are related to guidelines you are expected to learn. This assortment of work is frequently accumulated throughout an extensive stretch of time to reflect what you have been instructed as well as what you have realized.

Portfolio assessments empower understudies to mirror their genuine presentation, to show their powerless and solid area, and to notice students' advancement during the learning system and urges every student to take responsibility regarding their own learning.

Key elements of a portfolio

1. Cover Letter "About the writer" and "What my portfolio shows about my advancement as a student" (composed toward the end, however, put toward the start). The introductory letter sums up the proof of an understudy's learning and progress.

2.   Table of Contents that have numbered pages with it.

3. Entries -  The center components will be expected for every student and will give a typical base from which to settle on choices on evaluation. The discretionary things will permit the organizer to address the uniqueness of every understudy.

4. Dates of the entire entries, to work with verification of development over the long haul.

5. Drafts of aural/oral and composed items and reconsidered forms;

i.e., first drafts and adjusted/reexamined forms.

6. Reflections can show up at various stages in the learning system (for developmental and additionally summative purposes.) and can be written in the first language at the lower levels or by understudies who think that it is hard to communicate their thoughts in English.

Answer:

KEY CHARACTERISTICS OF PROTFOLIO ASSESSMENT

- A portfolio is a form of assessment that students do together with their teachers.

A portfolio is not just a collection of student work, but a selection - the student must be involved in choosing and justifying the pieces to be included.

A portfolio provides samples of the student’s work which show growth over time. By reflecting on their own learning (self-assessment), students begin to identify the strengths and weaknesses in their work. These weaknesses then become improvement goals.

- The criteria for selecting and assessing the portfolio contents must be clear to the teacher and the students at the outset of the process.

The entries in an EFL portfolio can demonstrate learning and growth in all language domains/skills, or can focus on a specific skill such as appreciation of literature, or writing.

15. reflection of the portfolio

Answer:

Final Reflection

Looking back on this class, I have realized just how much my writing has improved since the beginning of the quarter and that first assignment. I went from being a writer that was not confident in his work and over-thought everything into someone who found his own writing style, and can quickly and effectively write an essay (of course revising it as well). This portfolio was made so that I can show off what I have learned from this class, and show off just how much I have improved as a writer. The work that I selected show that I have made incredible progress this term. In the beginning of the quarter there were many things that I had to revise in my essays, and they took me twice as long to write as well. However, by the end of the quarter writing, although not quite second nature to me, has become much simpler and my writing in general has become much stronger as well.

There are many things that I have learned about myself this quarter. I have learned that if I do not over-think my papers while I am writing them, and stop trying to make them perfect (until the end), writing becomes much easier for me. This portfolio not only shows everyone how I have progressed as a writer, but it also shows what I have learned about myself as a writer. It contains not only my best works, but also my mistakes, and through the work in here I am able to see the mistakes that I commonly make while writing such as over-generalizing things and writing about something before I completely understand it myself. However there are also things that I realized woks well for me in my writing. Unlike what I thought in the beginning of the quarter, I write much better when I make a general outline and write out the paper without correcting myself as I go. In this English 131 course I have learned many things about myself as a writer and have finally found a way of writing that works best for me.

Answer:

In ALS, the classes and discussions in the lessons helped me a lot in finishing my elementary school or JHS. The teachers and classmates were very supportive and helped me in my studies. There were some difficulties and problems I encountered when attending class, but I usually solve them by asking my teachers or classmates for help.

In creating my portfolio, I learned a lot about different topics and skills. My teachers and classmates were also helpful in guiding me through the process. Although I had some trouble doing my portfolio, I was able to make it successful by being diligent, active, and asking for feedback from my teachers and classmates.

Through creating my portfolio, I developed good habits such as being organized, disciplined, and being able to manage my time effectively. I believe that these habits will help me in my future endeavors.

There are many lessons and activities in school that can be applied in real life. For example, the importance of communication skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. These skills are essential not only in school but also in the workplace and other aspects of life.

After finishing elementary school or JHS, my plan is to continue my education and pursue my dreams. I believe that ALS has provided me with the foundation and skills I need to succeed in my future endeavors.
